Gisteravond bekeek ik via YouTube een Amerikaanse news-clip met de titel
99% OF WHITE EVANGELICAL VOTERS OPPOSE IMPEACHMENT.
Het blijkt dus dat deze evangelicalen tot de laatste snik de allersterkste steun aan Trump geven. De video is niet erg interessant om te beluisteren, aangezien twee christenen heel voorzichtig slechts wat kritische kanttekeningen plaatsen. Veel interessanter waren de talloze commentaren die onder de YouTube-video te zien waren. Ze lieten zien hoe diepgaand dit de publieke opinie over evangelicals negatief heeft beïnvloed. Er bleef in de commentaren werkelijk niets over van nog enig respect voor deze groep.
Ik was van plan deze te verzamelen, omdat veel ervan bijzonder scherp verwoord werden, maar vanmorgen merkte ik op dat alle commentaren zijn weggehaald en de video geen mogelijkheid tot commentaar meer geeft.
Hetzelfde nieuws werd echter ook door de comedian
Seth Meyers verteld, en daar kan men ook heel wat scherpe reakties lezen, waarvan ik hier een paar langs laat gaan:

-99% of evangelicals aren't real christians.
-Wow. The evangelicals wouldn't know Satan even when he's sitting right on their faces.
-It’s funny because white Evangelicals are the most judgmental people on the planet.
-And 100% of them want the Antichrist to walk the earth.
-Because nothing is more Christian than supporting a lying, filthy rich adulterer whose entire presidency is based on turning away the weary, the hungry, and the poor.
-They fit in the same category as others desiring a theocracy, like the demagogues in the "Sharia law" countries.
-One good thing to come out of Trump's presidency: We can finally stop any pretence, that evangelicals ever cared about religion or even basic morality. Their unwavering support for a man who is the antithesis of their supposed morality and an affront to human decency in general has unmasked them.
-Evangelical ethics and morals sure have "evolved" a lot in the last couple of years. Didn't lying, racism, and adultery used to frowned upon by "Christians"?
-Evangelicals are now Devil Worshippers!
-Christian evangelicals... creating atheists one poll at a time.
-Because the more devout somebody is, the crazier they are.

-A lot of Evangelicals are really into the idea of "The End Times" and apocalyptic bullshit so that kind of makes sense.
Eén persoon schrijft: Don't let Evangelicals run away from Trump once he crashes, use him to break their "legitimacy". Claim they worshipped the anti Christ and are a fallen faith - It'll drive them nuts.
Daar hoeft men echter echt niet toe op te roepen, want het is een onafwendbaar resultaat van dit rampzalige pact met de duivel dat evangelicalen gemaakt hebben. De term "evangelisch" zal decennia lang gelijk staan aan "de grootste steuners van de slechtste, meest corrupte en gewetensloze, ondemocratische, en domste president die de VS in haar gehele geschiedenis ooit gehad heeft".
